NSW Probate Costs

In NSW there are 3 costs associated with obtaining a grant of Probate. 

The first cost is the advertising cost of running the
Notice of Intention stating that you'll be applying for a grant probate in relation to the will of the deceased. 

The second cost is the
Probate Filing Fee, which is payable to the Court via bank cheque at the time we lodge the application.

The third cost is the fee you pay the company or individual who prepares the paperwork that is submitted to the Court.  If you have us at
Making Probate Easy prepare your application, that's our fee.  Our total fee is $800 regardless of the value of the deceased's estate. We also guarantee that your application will be approved by the Court.



Court Charge 1: Publishing a Notice of Intention to apply for a Grant of Probate

The current Court charge for publishing the notice is $48.  The notice runs for 14 days  in the NSW Courts Online Registry.  It contains some standard wording and is designed to state on the public record that an application for a grant of Probate will be made.  It includes the name of the deceased and the name of the executor(s) named in the will.  We will prepare the Notice of Intention advertisement for you and  place it on your behalf.

Court Charge 2: The Probate Filing Fee

This is a the charge imposed by the Court in order to lodge an application for Probate in NSW.  The fee amount is based on the total value of the deceased's assets.  The more assets the deceased had, the higher the fee the Court charges.  This charge is paid by you, via bank cheque made payable to the Court, at the time we lodge your Probate application. The specific amounts are laid out below.

Cost 3: The Fee charged by the company who prepares your Probate application

Solicitors and Law Firms will generally charge you anywhere between $2,000 and $15,000 to prepare the paperwork for your application.  At Making Probate Easy our fee is $800, regardless of the value of the estate.  And we guarantee your application will be approved by the Court and subsequently you'll receive your grant of Probate.
